Reality becomes lost in a mire of ‘pretense experience’. Often, when given an opportunity to be open and communicate honestly, our ability to discern, to care, and to share is marred by perceptions that are fixed in this pretense. And so, we become simply too discouraged to even attempt sharing what we really feel, think, experience, and know.
